Robert (Bob) E. Stanley, Sr.

Brother Robert (Bob) E. Stanley, Sr. was united with our Lord and savior December 27, 2006 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Brother Bob was preceded in death by parents, Welford Stanley and Mattie Buchanan Stanley; and brothers Harold Stanley and Joel Stanley. He is survived by wife, Audrey Mae Stanley; son, Robert E. Stanley, Jr. and wife, Cynthia Davis Stanley; daughter, Karen S. Mullins and husband Freddie E. Mullins. Other survivors include grandchildren; Craig Stanley; Chris Stanley and wife, Renee Craven Stanley; Freddie Elmer Mullins and wife, Marnie Delaney Mullins; Laura Faye Robinson and husband, Brad Robinson; Mattie Ruth Stanley.

       Clergymen officiating are Keith Dotson and Allen Viers. The Welford Stanley Cemetery located in the Hibbitts Gap section of Darwin, Virginia; will serve as final resting place. Mullins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

      Bob accepted Christ and was baptized on Mother’s Day 1968 and became a member of our church July 1968. He held a vital part as a member of Lick Fork FWB Church and served Christ and his community in many areas. He was a faithful attendee of Sunday worship, Wednesday night Bible study and enjoyed being a choir member. He taught Sunday school for many years and served as Deacon from November 1971 until his passing.

      Brother Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. As believers, we look forward to being reunited with Brother Bob and others who have gone on before us. Until then, we shall live and strive to further God’s kingdom by the example set by our brother.
