Jeff Stanley

Brother Jeff Stanley is the newest member of our church family and we welcome him with open arms! Jeff accepted Christ in May of 2009 at Johnson City Medical Center. At that time, Jeff was in a battle to survive physically; yet he realized that he needed a spiritual healing much more than the physical. Brother Jeff was diagnosed with Acute Myelocytic Leukemia, a very aggressive form of the disease, in May of 2009. During this time, he underwent several life-saving, yet life-threatening treatments to rid his body from this disease. Through much prayer and faith in God for a healing, Jeff was blessed to overcome this disease. God blessed Jeff with a miracle, and our entire church family rejoices! What an awesome opportunity to see God work in the lives of those around us, as he did in the Stanley family. His story goes deeper than the disease. Several years ago Jeff’s oldest child started attending Youth League at our church. Later, that child accepted Christ, was baptized and later joined our church as a member. Through that, Jeff’s wife started visiting our church regularly, then later she took up membership with our church; as she had accepted Christ and been baptized several years ago. Then, you guessed it – Jeff started attending services and being involved in activities; then he was hit with a stark reminder that this life is only temporary…in a strange way, that circumstance may have been a gift, rather than a hardship.
Recently, Brother Jeff was baptized on August 8th 2010 and he stepped forward and joined the fellowship of our church family on August 15th 2010. Brother Jeff is often ready to help with whatever task is at hand, whether it is a work-day at church or volunteering at Vacation Bible School. For some time now, our Youth League has been in need of an additional van driver and many of our members have been praying that God would lead someone to volunteer for this position. God answered our prayers: Brother Jeff recently volunteered to help with the bus ministry!
Lick Fork Free Will Baptist Church praises God for Brother Jeff and for his example of faith and the miracle of his healing, both spiritual and physical!
